Women’s Hair Loss Forums

Women's hair loss forumsSo I received an email recently from a woman who thought it would be a great idea to start a hair loss forum on this site. The thought certainly crossed my mind when I was putting together this blog… I even installed the forum and then took it off. Why? I guess because for me hair loss forums never really helped me. The idea is great, and I think there certainly is an element of support and togetherness that makes them really important, but I always felt worse after spending time on the hair loss forums because I felt more confused than ever. Everyone is so individual, you may read on a hair loss forum that some treatment someone is doing that is working for them, but isn’t working for you, and you may end up feeling bad. Or perhaps you are taking something that you think is good for you and then you read that another women had devastating results from it, but yet another women had success with it, and you may feel lost and confused. It makes you second guess your own course of treatment, for better or worse. So thats my issue with it. Overall I have nothing against hair loss forums, I think they can be educational, and provide a sense of community among women hair loss sufferers. I find they are very addictive and you can easily become obsessed with checking the forums every 10 minutes to see if anything new occurred when you were making a snack. I already obsess enough about my hair loss, and reading about it 24 hours a day on a hair loss forum just wasn’t for me. But that is just me, I certainly could be in the minority with my thoughts on it. I will keep an open mind about the idea of starting a womens hair loss support group forum on The Women’s Hair Loss Project site. So if you think it would be beneficial for you send me an email at women@womenshairlossproject.com
After all I don’t want this site to be just about me, I want others to share as well. As I mentioned when I started this blog, I’m hoping sharing will be healing… for me and you.

You are so right about hair loss forums, I know exactly what you mean. Everyone is nice enough, but the confusion factor is huge. Thank you for starting this blog. I do enjoy reading it and reading about your days as I struggle with my own.

My eyes are tired of words sprawled on a page about absolutely nothing…most of the blogs lack substance and are inundated with advertisements for other products. Whatever you read, don’t stray from what is really important. Listen to your own body as you have lived it in all your life. Understand that hair loss is not a stable condition that will auto-heal or worsen…it’s up to you to make sure you are healthy, whether you focus on diet and exercise or social life. Always do something to make you feel good, you’ll look good in return. A simple smile releases so many endorphins, you’ll soon forget about your head!

Research and learn what information is available and take everything at face value. Don’t lose sight of yourself or get carried away on the next best thing. On average, i’ve spent nearly $5,000 a year on hair help! Nothing works best for me than a $30 wig!
