Everyone has their own way of tending to their wigs, how they wash and dry etc. I’ve done wig washing videos before and for the most part I typically wash my girls the night before they are going to be worn and they will just get the upside down air dry treatment, and by “treatment” I mean pinned to two styrofoam heads upside down LOL. The exception is made with my Follea Aero-2 wig (Mila) which I will always dry right side up because she has more natural volume on the top and drying her upside down just leaves me wanting to sing “9 to 5” the following morning with my ooh la la Dolly hair. Not that there is anything wrong with that if that is your style, but it just doesn’t work for me and quite frankly, it scares my fiancé 🙂
Mila is my one wig I do tend to my quick dry the most with. I wash her, blow out the cap, pop her on my head for some extra dry time and then I’m out the door in a flash. Super quick, super easy, nothing fancy here.
Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for the video but how do you hang it upside down on the styrofoam head. I am not handy and need to keep paying for the wig store to wash and restyle my wigs.
I,m sure this is a stupid question. But when you say the wigs get the upside down air dry treatment. Do you mean you put the wigs on the styrofoam head hair down or is it hair up and styrofoam head hanging upside down?
Hi Holly & Cassy – I literally just turn the wig upside down and pin it to two styrofoam heads like this:
Also you can see it in this video: https://www.womenshairlossproject.com/wigs/wig-washing-part-four-freedom-follea-style-lifestyle-that-is/
It creates a bit of lift off the root of the wig that way and for me it works great in just having a very natural air dried look. Vicka from Follea is the one who told me how to do this when I bought my first wig. It’s really simple, the video will show better how I do it. I think whether or not you like the results will depend on if you like more volume and also the hair and wig construction of the wig you have. It works excellent with the Lifestyle wigs I have from Follea, but like I mentioned, I don’t do it with my Aero Lacefront wig because that wig already has more volume on the top and hanging it upside creates way too much addition volume for my needs.
XOXO
Do you know if your Lifestyle is easy to dry and wear quickly due to the cut, or is your wig “out of the box?”
I ordered my first Follea Aero and went to the salon to look at it today. The hair is beautiful. I ordered the 14 /17 inch ( ?) I think. But here’s my question– It is so thin in the back. When I pull my hair forward, you can see the back of the cap by my neck. And this is with 35% more hair in the back on my original order. I told the salon to send it back for more hair. I watch your videos and your hair seems to be the perfect density. Do you have extra hair added? I’m freaking out because it took me nearly five months to get the wig this first time. The customer service in my salon has not been great. And I need hair!! Thanks for any info you have! Please keep posting your videos!

@Laine – Just for clarification, the wig in the video was actually my Aero-2 wig, but my Lifestyles are easy to wash and hang dry not due to the cut, it’s just that way. My 2 shorter lifestyles (natasha and natalia) are not cut at all. As far as the ease of wearing, once I toss it on my head after it’s been drying upside down I do have to further finesse it otherwise I’d leave the house looking like cousin IT from the Adam’s Family. It takes a few minutes of brushing this way and that way and combing here and there to get it just right after a fresh wash. The subsequent days of wearing after a wash are easier since it’s already set in place.
@Holli – Congrats on getting your new wig, but I’m so sorry to hear you are having struggles with it from the get go. My Aero didn’t come with any extra density added, nor do I really ever hear of anyone adding density to the Aero because it is a wig with a lot density and fullness already. Did the salon suggest the added density? It seems uncharacteristic for that particular wig, and for it to still be thin would definitely be alarming. I would definitely suggest you contact Follea directly and get them involved to help figure out what’s going on with your wig, and also if you are getting crappy service from a salon carrying their product, then you should most definitely let them know. I’ve always found their customer service to be great, so shoot them an email directly at info@follea.com and hopefully this wig situation can be demystified and you can get the swishy hair of your dreams soon!
XOXO
Thank you SO much for getting back to me. I am very particular and am used to a heavier density wig. But I still think your aero has more hair. I used your videos as a reference to show the salon what I wanted. I wish I could bring you to Chicago to show them your hair!! Please keep making videos–I am in a hair crisis right now and seeing that you have such great hair is keeping me going. That and Xanax! 🙂
@Holli – The Follea Aero’s should all be the same density at the start and if you are having trouble with it, please do reach out to Follea to get them involved to try and help so you can be totally happy with your hair. Hair wig crisis is a definite “no bueno.” Sending you big hugs!!
XOXO
I cannot believe how amazingly natural that process was! Man do I want that look but so afraid my head is gonna sweat!!
