Thanks for the great video series! My salon had taught me to wash my follea in the sink basin, but I like this method better--and I love the recommendations to dry it upside-down--and the shampoo and conditioner recommendations.

I've work hair for about a year and a half and it's awesome!ots of freedom, no worries about hair loss, but lots of living!

Thank you for your wig washing tips! I don't even own one now but your videos are truly helpful because part of the 'fear' of wigs is not 'knowing' them. Funny, watching you handle your hair, I was like - Aargh! she's gonna pull the hair out! - but nope, didn't happen! So okay, no doubt, you've heard it a hundred, oops, thousands of times - just THANK YOU .... for all of 'this'.
Have a great day girl!

@Angie - So glad you liked the series! I haven't watched Storage Wars, I'll have to check it out now though :) I love hearing the feedback that the videos are helpful.. yay!

@Beth - Which site are you referring to, when you say "her site" ?

@Sherry - I don't think it's dishonest at all, I went to a HUGE family function this past weekend (that's a blog post all in itself) and my Aunt says to me "Wow your hair looks good, it's gotten really long are you going to keep it that way" HAAAA HAAAA My reply, " Yes, I think so" Like for a REALLY long time because this sh*t ain't growing. As Lina said, it's a private matter, you share what you want, with whom you want and never feel like you have to tell someone because if you don't you are being dishonest. That's my take on it. If you want to share, great.. if not smile and say "Thank you"

@Shaina - My hair doesn't stick out from the edges in an unnatural way, I pull out pieces and sit the wig ever-so slightly behind my hairline, so that hasn't been an issue for me. I think if people tell you it looks natural, I'm sure it's fine, we are often so much more critical and over analyzing of ourselves and our "hair" than others are, we notice everything, they just see the big picture. Glad you liked the washing videos :)

hey! i have a question, does your natural hair stick out around the edges at all? mine does and I can't ever decide if that makes it looks like I have a wig or not. People who know say it doesn't. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?! also, Thanks SO MUCH for these videos :) all the wig places I have around here they don't really know anything about wigs and when I asked for washing tips they just hand me a card with instructions that are way too vague haha. So thanks for all you do!!!

Sherry,
It is not dishonest, it is a private matter. You do not need to explain to anyone. It is awesome that your wigs look so real and you get compliments on it. Just smile, wear it proud and admit you look fine!
If you do tell someone because you want to, that is your business and remember: "those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
hugs xo

I have a question. When I get compliments on my hair when I am wearing a wig I just smile and say thank you. I hate the thought of having to explain why I am wearing the wig. It pleases me to know the wig looks so natural on me. I am not one to be dishonest but I feel this is a private matter. What do you ladies think about this?

I was completely engrossed in the entire series! :) It just hit me who you look like - Brandy, from Storage Wars. With the shades and all.

As someone who is FINALLY thinking about the possibility of wearing hair - what you do for all of us here takes alot of the mystery out of it. CANNOT thank you enough for this site.

Love ya, Our Rock Star Sunglass Queen!!

Thank you guys for all the great supportive comments!

@Annette - I am really enjoying the long hair, haven't had this length hair in FOREVER, I also used to have it like this in H.S. - Those were they days :)

@Lula - Glad you like them! xoxo

@Lina - You're so funny! Embrace the strawberry shortcake ice cream, it sounds delicious. You are a REAL trooper to want to watch all the videos back to back, make sure to do that with the oatmeal though.

@Kelly - I'm glad the videos are helping to take away the "scare factor" I am hoping they do have that effect for women, its always great to hear when that IS working out.

@Nookum - Everything else being equal (human hair, cuticle correct etc) how the hair dries will largely be dependent on the characteristics of the donor's hair and origin of the hair. On wigs some will dry with a wave, some will dry stick straight. I'm guessing a wig make with Chinese hair will dry VERY stick straight. If I placed Anya on a stand upright and let her dry she'll be pretty straight but not poker straight, that could super easily be achieved with a a roll brush and a blow dryer which I would do once she was probably 90% air dried.

@Beth - Yes I can wear my wigs all day without issue for the most part with the the WiGrip. And I say "for the most part" because there have been times that maybe I tied it to tight around my head the day prior and the day following the grip and wig aren't feeling as comfortable as they normally do. This is a fairly rare occurrence though. I have made it through very long days with my wig and grip, like 6am - 11pm, sometimes a little longer than that.

Hi Y!
I read your post about the WiGrip, and now that you have been wearing hair for awhile, I would like to know if you are able to wear your wigs all day without them getting uncomfortable. I have one that I wore a few times with clips and pins and after three or four hours, had to take it off because it would get uncomfortable. Can you make it all day without wanting to take it off? Thanks!
