I don’t know if a WiGrip would hold under water.. that’ a good question! I don’t swim in my wigs, and in fact I don’t really swim at all 🙂 Just never been much of a water person. Based on how heavy I see a wig gets when submerged into water for a shampoo’ing, I think that might potentially be a bit uncomfortable, I’d also be fearful of damaging my wigs with the chlorine or even the salt in a salt water pool. But I do have some closet wigs I don’t wear, that maybe at some point I’ll be so bold as to march out to the pool WiGrip and wig, on and see what happens! XOXO

Well my getting off the Aldactone went pretty smoothly I think. I think next month it will be about 5 1/2 months (or something close to that) since I got that medication. I wouldn’t say I’m totally out of the woods yet as it pertains to my hair, but the other unpleasant ill effects like water retention, are all smoothed out and no longer present. I haven’t gotten off my birth control yet. I was planning to do that after my next PRP session, but I’m a bit scared with that one. I’m in a good place with my hair right and I don’t want to rock the boat. So I may hang on to it a little longer.. we shall see. You also touched on another issue I worried about, my skin. The pill does keep the skin pretty clear, and I’m thinking I’ll be in breakout central if I get off. Though, I suppose routine visits to an esthetician should help that with facials etc. So I won’t let that be a reason to stay on the pill, rather just an extra justification to delay the OCP cessation process 😉

I love the video. When (not if…when!) I start wearing wigs I’ll use the WiGrip. I can’t stand anything pulling on my scalp, either.

How is it going with the meds? Have you gotten off the birth control yet? FYI, be on the lookout for breakouts when you stopped. I had no idea my nice skin was the result of the pill until I went off it. Had I known that I would’ve maybe taken a bit more “preventative maintenance” measures!

The lacefront on the mannequin with the wine at the end, and also I was wearing it in the pic where I’m holding up the sign. I also put my lacefront behind my hairline for the most part. The only time I didn’t was when I got a messed up haircut and my bang area was cut so short it ruined my ability to integrate them the way I like, at that time I wore the Aero a lot and I didn’t use my hairline. In order to get the lacefront to work behind my hairline I had to cut the lace fairly close to the hair, not sure how advisable that is, but that is what I did, since I wanted to use my hairline. It is harder to integrate my hair the way I like when there is lace. When I first bought Natalia, I asked about the life expectancy of the wig and I was told 2-3 years and that it really depends on how it’s cared for. Some people are harder on their wigs than others. Natalia turns 1 in May. She’s holding up good.

@Lace – The bobby pin idea is great too! There is no one exact and perfect way to wear a wig, no right and no wrong, it’s whatever works. Whether it’s clips, combs, tape, bobby pins, a grip or nothing at all, it’s whatever we are comfortable with.

@DJ – All the girls I wear are all hand tied, except Mila, who sports a hand tied lace top and front and she she has closed wefted in the back. I find non lace wigs easier to integrate my hairline with, than the lace. Lace wigs shine through as a winner when you are not wanting to use your hairline at all. Some wigs have a hard lace, some have a soft lace, if the lace is hard and stiff, that will be more difficult. And I only have experience with one lace front wig, so I don’t know if I would have been able to put other lace fronts behind my hairline. It all depends on the wig and the type of lace I think.

@Adrienne – Good luck with your wiggy appointment next week! Baby steps work! Remember to make sure the tag on the grip is facing outward and behind the right ear, that’s a very important part of wearing the grip to ensure the direction of the grain in the material is going the right way to create the proper friction requires to keep the wig in place.
