i've been meaning to go see my doctor and see if this is something that might be contributing to my hair loss. i was never able to conceive only when i went to a fertility doctor and i able to have my son. i've been having hair loss for most of my life too and was recently diagnose with having telogen-effluvium.
so does this problem correct it's self, i guess what i mean if you find out that you have PCOS, can the medication help you with your hair loss?

I was also diagnosed with PCOS fairy recently, about 3 years back. I've been constantly telling people about my hair loss since I was 20! Fifteen or so years later, I really wish I appreciated the hair I had back then. Now it's much thinner. I've cut it beyond boy short. Luckily it suits my face. But the constant fiddling with it, worrying about a stray breeze, certain angles, taking constant pictures to see how it looks and where I can see so much scalp, is an emotional toll. I have fake wigs. Fairly high-end. They look pretty darn real unless you know your hair. Problem is, I get instant headaches wearing them so I'm only good for 5-8 hours and I can't enjoy myself due to the pain. And at the end of the day, I don't wear a wig to bed. It's me and my body. So what to do? Regardless of what happens with my hair I've come to realize I must accept my hair state for what it is. And my own self with or w/out fake hair. Even if it means going bald. A daily struggle. A hard and never ending journey. Happy to see this blog and hear/read other women's stories and know I'm not alone. A true gift.

Thank you for this information. Your website and guidance is awesome. I have never been diagnosed with PCOS but some of these symptoms seem "familiar". I think your 5-step diva process can apply to me. I started with the dejunking. I've bookmarked your site - I will be back.

Thank you :-)

I think I had PCOS in my 30's and was offered the pill but I was trying to have a baby so refused. Now my testosterone is really high but no one cares...No one cares I'm losing my hair or that I have facial hair. Doctors do not care. I did read that a bad thyroid can cause high testosterone. My daughter is only 16 and is losing hair like mad. I'm more worried for her than me.
