I had my first HPV jab (Gardasil 9) in the end of November 2021, 2nd — 17 January. On 21 January I discovered a small coin shaped bold spot — alopecia areata as was stated by GP and derm. Since then I have been losing hair all over my head (diffuse hair loss) and lost about 70 of my density. I suspect I have androgenetic alopecia which got unmasked but it is not for sure yet. My derm did not give a proper diagnostic or diagnose, my blood work is ok apart from ferritin level (on the lower side). It only recently occurred to me there might be a connection with my alopecia areata and diffuse hair loss and HPV vaccine. My 3rd shot should be now, in June but I won’t be risking it.

In reply to Kimberly. Wow another person who is the same as me, I had the flu shot for the first time and got sick straight after and then started to lose my hair, drs don’t believe the flu shot can do that but the tricologist believes it could be from a vaccine.

Lost all hair on my body after flu shot in 2016. Everything except my eyebrows and scalp hair have grown back. Praying for everyone.

I am 26 years old, I had a flu shot also and 5 months later had a bald patch on the top of my head. Doctor just said it was Alopecia Areata and stress but it was the first time it ever happened.

I had a tetanus shot in 2019 and 70% of my hair fell out. It took about six months for my hair to start growing back. I just had my first shingles shot and now my hair is falling out again.

My daughter was a healthy & happy freshman in college majoring in Medical Diagnostic Imaging when she needed her first flu vaccine. She was given the Flublok Quad at the age of nineteen in November 2019. I received a phone call from her at the end of January and she informed me that she had a small bald patch. I took her to the dermatologist and she was diagnosed with an aggressive form Alopecia Areata. She lost all of her 22″ long dark hair in a matter of 4 months. Her primary care/internal medicine doctor concluded she had a severe adverse reaction to the flu vaccine and wrote her an exempt from getting any future flu vaccines. This flu vaccine also caused her thyroid to go out of balance and she was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism. It is now August 2021, my daughter is now wearing a wig and has not had any successful hair regrowth. It has been an emotional rollercoaster since the day she received her first flu vaccine and two months later her alopecia areata diagnosis. She has tried all the conventional treatments with no results. We are now on a path of seeing a Naturopathic doctor, starting an AIP diet and adding supplements in the areas she is deficient in. I only wished I had known more about the different types of flu vaccines and that the Flublok Quad has a high antigen-content and that this particular vaccine is ideal for older adults.

i had my flu shot this year, may 2021 to be exact. the next day after the flu shot when i took a shower a handful of hair fell & created a 1inch circular bald patch, 2-3weeks shedding was very very fast, depressing till up to 4week i have 3 patches, the more depressing. i went to see a doctor and all my medical results came okay and normal, the typical diagnosis is stress (which i dont agree as work life balance has been very good!) i hope my story will be helpful in tackling vaccine related issues.

Im so lucky to find all these women with same condition. I prayed for God to give the smallest clue why I have hair fall almost a year and a half now. I recieved Hep B vaccine in the end of 2019. After 6 month my hair is falling like crazy. My blood tests are ok, my hormones are ok, no big stress. Now is 2021 and my hair is still falling out, don’t know what to do. There is no way that doctors would admit that this is happening because of this vaccine.

I am so sorry for all of the sad stories. I like many others have experienced hair issues after the Hep B vaccination. Not only did my healthy hair change to paper and start cracking off but over all, I was sluggish and just didn’t feel like myself anymore. All of this came into play right after the third dose. I had to cut my hair down about 4 times and it’s growing very slowly, it seems.
Due to my experience with the Hep B vaccination, I’ve decided not to take anymore. My trust is totally in God. He’s able to keep me without all these man-made antidotes! Way too many side affects for me!
